The ESB is a 31-key baritone* anglo concertina, available with a Jeffries or Wheatstone/Lachenal fingering layout, in C/G or D/A with tipo a mano reeds. Like all R. Morse concertinas, the ESB is crafted to offer the best features of high-end vintage concertinas and comes with a fitted hardshell case and a 5-year warranty against defective parts and workmanship. Instruments are made to order. Base price $2,875. and free shipping within continental U.S.

The Button Box, Inc., has been making high-quality, reliable concertinas under the R. Morse & Co. brand since 1999. Our concertinas are nimble instruments with a full, bright tone, satisfying to play and appealing to the eye as well. These instruments are meticulously designed and built by us right here in western Massachusetts.

| Action: | We use a traditional riveted action and stainless steel springs for a quick and even response. Lever arms are cut from brass sheets, eliminating the 'spring' effect produced by lever arms fabricated out of brass rods. |
| Reedpan: | The reedpan and action pan are integrated, making our instruments unusually light and offering a full and bright sound. |
| Reeds: | We use high-grade Italian-made accordion reeds, providing a response and dynamic range equal to or surpassing that of many vintage concertinas. Stock reeds on the ESB are hand-finished (tipo a mano). |
| Bellows: | Our standard bellows have six folds and a traditional construction of acid-free card stock, goat leather, and cotton muslin, providing strength, flexibility, and durability. A seven-fold bellows is available for an additional charge. |
| Endframes: | The graceful fretwork is made of a strong walnut laminate with a clear finish. |
| Fittings: | Our concertinas are fitted with our own brass endbolts and thumbscrews. |

I’m Doug Creighton, owner of The Button Box in Sunderland, Massachusetts. I wanted to provide you with an update on what you can expect from the Button Box in the coming weeks, during this unprecedented and strange time we’re all experiencing.
As in many other states, the governor of Massachusetts has currently closed all non-essential businesses to walk-in customers and staff, and encouraged continued online business. Because our staff is not able to be at the store, our capability has been limited.
However, I’ve been working on setting up at home, and I’m happy to announce that we now have increased capability for you to do business with us online.
We look forward to returning to full capability back in Sunderland at some future date. In the meantime, we appreciate your continued business, and send our good wishes to you and yours. Please stay safe and healthy, and play lots of music!
